OUR CLASSES
Active Meditation The techniques used in this class were designed by Osho to adjust to the current passive lifestyle. They add a preliminary "active" step to traditional meditations to allow for letting go of many prepressed emotions and feelings which create our internal tensions. A fun and unusual approach to meditation. Alignment & Props (formerly Iyengar-Inspired) A practice of postures that is focused on alignment and use of props to deepen the body's understanding of the posture. Longer holds are practiced to develop strength. Breath & Meditation A 45-minutre practice of pranayama (breathing), followed by a brief period (15-20 minutes) of meditation. An excellent introduction to both practices. Open Yoga, Mixed Level Yoga A mixed level of students will be in this class. Pre-natal Yoga Mothers-to-be from conception to birth. Please consult your physician if there is ANY question about appropriateness for YOUR pregnancy. Wake Up & Flow Exactly what it says, a no frills, jump out of bed (okay, so who sleeps in anymore???), run out of the house and get-some-movement-and-breath-to-start-your-day kind of class. Yoga Pit Stop A quicker-paced flow class that gives a vigorous 60-minute infusion of breath and movement. Yoga-1 This class focuses on the basics of yoga asana practice (postures) with introduction to pranayama practices (breathing). Principles of relaxation for stress reduction and physical flexibility along with practices to build strength in safe, mindful ways will be a regular part of every practice. Yoga-1,2 Having competently progressed from basic postures, students in this class will practice more challenging asana & pranayama techniques. More refined attention will be given to opening joints and tissue while expanding the use of breath to develop more energetic awareness in the asana practice. Meditation may be introduced. |
